Established by Georgina Willis and Kerry Rock, Potoroo Films creates cutting edge cinema. WATERMARK, our first feature, debuted in Directors' Fortnight at the CANNES FILM FESTIVAL. Our earlier short films have shocked, enthralled and excited audiences at film festivals internationally, in Europe, the US and elsewhere, including at Palm Springs, Mill Valley, Texas, Mannheim-Heidelberg, Grenoble and many more. We are currently developing a slate of films, including a current US project, that reflects our distinctive vision.
Georgina Willis is a young writer/director who built an international reputation in photography before moving into film. Georgina has an Arts degree and a Masters degree from the University of Sydney. She is a member of the Directors' Guild of Great Britain.
“I guess for me, film is about dynamism. I really like the fact that the film needs so many things to come together to make it happen... photography, design, writing and acting. With our films, we always allow ourselves to take a chance... to do things a bit differently. So it's a very exciting time for film... being part of a medium that is constantly changing... a language that is evolving... expressing individuality”. GW
Writer/producer Kerry Rock has produced a range of films, including WATERMARK. With degrees in Arts and Commerce, Kerry also has extensive experience in writing, film editing and marketing.
“A film starts with just a sentence, a few words on a piece of paper... and there is nothing more exciting than seeing this transform into a film. Each film is a journey... always exhilarating. We're always looking for new ways of doing things, whether it be style or function”. KR
